Davis Road closing for round-about construction
||Trucco Construction will be construing the round-about
improvements at the intersection of Davis Road and Audubon Avenue.
Their off-road work will commence the week of May 14th.
project will result in the closure of Davis Road beginning May 30,
2017 and last for approximately 60 days. The planned detour route
will utilize Alton Darby Creek Road - Roberts Road - Walker road.

AEP Ohio Project Announcement
In December 2016, AEP Ohio will begin the Amlin-Cole 138kV Transmission
Line Project, which consists of adding a second 138kV transmission line to
the vacant position of the existing Beatty-Hayden 345kV transmission line.
This work will take place on the large electrical towers along
Alton-Darby Creek Rd. and will extend north and south through Brown
The new line will improve the electric service reliability in Franklin
County and provide another source of power to Amazon. The project covers
about 11 miles and is located in Brown, Norwich, Prairie and Washington
townships in Franklin County.

On February 26, 2016, ISKCON of Columbus, Ohio, USA, a Krishna religious organization, completed the purchase of 50 acres located at 3508 Walker Rd. just north of Davis Rd.
According to the buyer, the site will be used for a 500-person capacity Krishna temple and school to replace their current 300-person facility established near The Ohio State University campus in 1984. There are also plans for a farm-to-table restaurant and a vegetarian culinary institute that will teach vegetarian cooking to the public. For more information click here
|Brown Township is under the jurisdiction of Franklin County Zoning, which permits religious uses under Rural District zoning 302.025 provided the use occupies a lot of not less than three acres and there is one acre or more per one hundred seats or similar accommodates in the main assembly area. A parsonage, or minister's residence is permitted on the same lot, provided there is adequate area for water supply and waste-water disposal if located on site.|
The Walker Rd. property highlighted to the left is located outside of the Hilliard water and sewerage service area. This means the site will require an appropriately sized well and septic system. The site will also require a storm water management system that does not affect the local ecosystem or existing drainage.

Pulte Homes has submitted to the City of Hilliard revised application materials for the rezoning of 190.4 acres of property east and west of Elliott Road for the development of 278 residential lots with 98.1 acres of open space.
This land was annexed to Hilliard but the tax base remains in Brown Township.

Pulte Homes has not submitted revised plans for the March 10th hearing. They will be requesting a postponement to April 14th.

A revised Elliott Road proposal on the Tarlton Meadows development is scheduled to be heard by the City of Hilliard Planning & Zoning Commission at a meeting at 7 p.m. on March 10 at 3800 Municipal Way. The case was tabled after presentation and opposition testimony at the February 11 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting. Revised materials are to be submitted to the City of Hilliard by February 24 and will be posted here once they are provided to the township.

Brown Township Firehouse - Upstairs meeting room
Effective January 1, 2014, Brown Township Trustee meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month in the upstairs meeting room at the Brown Township Firehouse, located at 2491 Walker Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
This project is being managed by the Franklin County Economic Development & Planning Department. Brown Township residents, officials and Franklin County planners are developing a land use plan for unincorporated Brown Township.
Franklin County planners are meeting with a working committee composed of township residents, business owners, developers and others. This committee helps review public input and provides detailed feedback to the planners during the planning process.
Public meetings are scheduled to gather public input and comments about the direction and content of the plan. Meetings are publically advertised with road signs throughout the township and other announcements. Franklin County planners have set up a public website where township residents and other stakeholders can download plan documents, meeting materials and presentations.
Block Watch Organized
|The Brown Township Trustees hosted a Neighborhood Watch Program meeting in conjunction with the Franklin County Sheriff Community Programs division on November 18, 2010.|
A Franklin County Sherriff Officer presented a two hour session and distributed materials regarding establishing a Neighborhood Watch Program. He also shared preventative practices and services available to help fight crime.
