Call meeting to order: Chair Williams called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Minutes of meeting held September 10, 2007:
Fiscal Officer Bloxam noted some of payables included vouchers instead of checks. Vouchers included payroll taxes and OPERS payments to be made and reported online via the internet. Trustee Sayre asked if other townships paid bills using this method and Fiscal Officer Bloxam reported the majority of townships throughout the state do online reporting and payments giving the example that 98% report and make payments to OPERS online.
A proposal from Ahlum & Arbor Tree Preservation to trim trees on some portions of township roads not to exceed $4,000.00 was presented and reviewed by all trustees. Trustee Dever moved to approve the proposal. Trustee Williams seconded the motion. The motion to contract trimming trees was approved with unanimous votes.
Fiscal Officer Bloxam reported the new commercial grade carpet installation was completed at the Township Hall.
Fiscal Officer Bloxam requested specific review of printed materials received from the Ohio Township Association regarding House Bill 9 that took effect September 29, 2007 regarding the State’s Public Records Act. A draft policy was provided by the State Attorney Generals office. It is mandated that each political subdivision adopt a public records policy and requires all elected officials or their designees to attend three hours of public records training. Trustee Sayre moved to appoint Fiscal Officer Bloxam and the designee. Trustee Dever seconded the motion. All trustees voted yea and the motion carried. Fiscal Officer Bloxam reported she would attend the training on October 4, 2007.
